In Search for the Truth

It’s going to be a world-wide state of emergency. Life as I know it will be in its last phase. The rectitude of Jehovah’s rulership of earth will be clear for all to see; the race will be over, and the final war will be fought. Its effects will be different from those of other wars in human history. Imagine a war that has the following as its aftermath: an abundance of food, proper homes for everyone, an end to different illnesses and disabilities, widespread security, true love amongst survivors, etc. The destruction World War III — I presume — will go halves in common with I and II will be justified ones. It will be a different kind of war, so it’s no surprise that all it entails will be different. If I’m alive, I’ll perhaps be getting ready for some routine or something novel when the end comes; memories will be left when it’s over — one of which will be how I found the truth.

I recall a fourteen-year old me distraught by the way things really seemed and how most religions — via their teachings — made them appear. I guess I always felt that the religious creeds I was raised by, and used to, were wrong; what I needed to stay or break away was certainty that the creeds were true or false. The freedom to satisfy my thirst for the truth came when I got into college. Like most persons in search for something, I moved from one place to the other — in this case, from one church to another. Expectedly, the way their services were held differed but major dogmas remained the same. One of these dogmas is the widely taught lie that Christ was God in flesh when the bible itself quotes Jesus referring to himself as God’s son on more than an occasion. ‘When God in flesh was impaled, God in spirit oversaw the affairs of heaven and earth’ ,was the reply I got from a pastor at the church I attended when, out of curiosity, I asked who oversaw the affairs of heaven when God was on earth. Sounds mysterious, doesn’t it?  Well, I was searching for the truth, not unbiblical mysteries. Even if said in various ways, the answers I got as my search continued at other churches showed that they felt Christ was God in flesh or agreed somewhat with some dogmas that are not bible-based.

It was sometime in December 2008 when my scheduled travel was put off by a stomach upset that necessitated I stayed back at school and left for home the following day. On this day, two Jehovah’s Witnesses knocked on my door. I had heard a lot (mostly misconstrued opinions) about Witnesses, and the urge not to listen but give the ‘busy’ excuse was strong. After skepticism lost the battle in my mind, I let them in. Their message about God’s kingdom was different from what I knew. I felt their view about some religious dogmas that did not seem right might as well be different, so I decided to take more of their time which they gladly gave. What I was struck by the most was how their answers were backed soundly with the bible. More conviction was what I needed to confirm as truth what seemed to be. I agreed to a bible study with them and with the help of a friend who was also on the path of truth, I was certain I had found what I was looking for. Thank God I disallowed cynicism shut my mind from listening to the message that healed it! The concept of ‘Christ was God in flesh’ now sounds as pathetic as saying every human being is God just because the bible says man was created in God’s image. Instead of spelling out the difference, as the bible does, between Jehovah, his only begotten son — Christ, and the Holy Spirit, they'll rather make you believe in a ‘Blessed Trinity’. Some will even say that was why Jesus was also named Immanuel. Forgive my sarcasm, but I guess I should say my prayers before all of the Emmanuels (and Emmanuelles) I come upon. Once more, forgive my sarcasm, but some reasons given to support a lie are really funny. Trust me, the concept of Christ being God is arguably the most deplorable religious dogma out there! I’ll be telling the truth if I say that unwary persons who adhere to unbiblical religious tenets expose their lives, and those of their loved ones, to exploitation by the wicked one, evil spirits, and those who have dealings with them.

Walking away from some past religious habits was not as easy as I had envisioned, but a near-death experience at the hands of men I considered prophets of God was the push I needed to entirely get out of sham religions and practices that are considered Christian by many unsuspecting persons. Jehovah helped me survive this period, and I believe the signs were made clear via his power. I even noticed the signs in the works of some persons that, if the circumstances were normal, wouldn't have known. The signs that followed this incident made me realize that some of these sham religious leaders are not badly informed people who just teach the lies they were taught, or the lies they accept as truths for self-seeking ends, but rewarded devil’s puppets that deliberately help him destroy lives with the lies he tells them. Unrepentant rewarded devil’s puppets exist in different walks of life; for the sake of sarcasm, I trust they will be pleased with the choices they made when they are rewarded — with ruin — in the end. The fact that they have a form of godly devotion but prove false to its power makes false prophets and religions that profess Christianity the most sinister of them all. Simply put, it is harder to spot or easily secede from a devil that acts holy-like. The bible, at Rev. 18:24, sums it up by ascribing the deaths of all those who have been killed on earth to false religions. In turn, I believe all justice loving, unbiased, unsentimental people that know false religions backwards owe the innocent lives false religions have destroyed a favour: The eradication of false religious teachings (and, by extension, false religions) — even if it’s just by speaking out against them.

I know some persons who come across this story may feel: Who cares? Just another Jehovah’s Witness trying to make us believe they are the only ones with the knowledge of the truth, etc. Sadly, I am aware of the mostly negative thoughts that can easily darken the minds of a good number of people when it comes to creeds that are at variance with theirs — especially when it’s due to half truths. It’s not about religion to me, but the desire to help anyone willing to understand what it means to serve God in spirit and in truth.

  2. May Jehovah bless this writer. Only if people will open their minds to the truth about false religions, they'll be shocked by the amount of lies they've been made to believe.
